The Out of the Box programme – Turning Crisis Into Opportunity

Is crisis something that happens to us, or something we can work with? And is the current shift in the media landscape a global crisis, or a moment of change? Instability can drive reinvention when approached with intent.

In this hands-on session, Kathrin Brunner (mYndstorm Productions) introduces Out of the Box – Turning Crisis Into Opportunity, a new programme launching this summer. Drawing on work across media, innovation and emerging tech, the session looks at what happens when structures begin to crack, why that opens up new possibilities, and how to position yourself within them.

The workshop focuses on how the media and music industries are changing under pressure from AI, consolidation and uncertainty. It considers how the nature of work is shifting, and how existing skills can be adapted and applied in new contexts to build resilience and move into emerging spaces between traditional markets.

The session also opens the door to the wider ecosystem behind the program, including Future Skills / Start into Media (Medien.Bayern) and XR HUB Bavaria, supported by the Bavarian Ministry of Digital Affairs—and sets the ground for what this could become next.

60-minute interactive session: introduction and overview, shared future mapping, discussion and Q&A.

For artists, media makers, technologists and founders, and anyone eager to discuss disruption as raw material.

Effortless video: Better, faster, simpler

Most people overcomplicate video. Too much gear, too much time, too many blockers.

In this hands-on session, cinematographer and DJ Rik Komáromi draws on 15 years across commercial production and artist-led work to show what actually delivers. Alongside his film work, he creates with electronic punk collective Mye_Taai, often shooting in real conditions with minimal setup.

This workshop focuses on what matters. How to work with what you have, why audio matters more than image quality, and how to use framing, light and performance to create something that connects. Relevant for music, social and brand content.
