Uzor’s new work reconnects in various ways with the works and stylistic elements of the musical Renaissance, which both contrast with and merge into his own material. Between the movements of ORIRI, Renaissance works are performed in this program, with Machaut’s rondeau «Doulz viaire gracieus» serving as the starting point for Uzor’s composition and appearing in changing facets in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th movements.

“ORIRI (Banquet) sets out on paths intended to lead my music into open spaces filled with light, melody, and resonance. As a composer committed to precise notation and the greatest possible sensitivity to sound, opening up to chance and reducing the sonic material is a challenge.

At the heart of the piece, a parody of Machaut’s rondeau Doulz viaire gracieus is set against my passacaglia. The order of medieval sound, with its sophisticated time structures and heavenly proportions, stood in contrast to a society that, in its hierarchical and violent nature, sought refuge in art and calculation—music of chimerical purity, whose intricate verses could offer no substitute for either eroticism or social justice.

The superimposition of the poetic perspective with the political one is illustrated by a sonic disturbance that, through a sixth-tone tuning, dissolves the functional relationship between chords.

In ORIRI, East and West stand opposite each other—not as enemies, but with curiosity, in hospitality, in dialogue. Flute and guitar here serve as bridges from East to West, from Iraq to Santiago, from monologue to encounter, from dispute to a symposium of voices.” (Charles Uzor)

The Kiki Music showcase opens with two independent artists, Rosadenia (GR) and Estonia’s Heleenyum, whose music blurs the line between pop and sonic experimentation, before handing the stage to the Kiki Music showcase, which starts with three of Kiki’s newest voices: V4L, Lou and Tso, the emerging artists who represent the label’s sharpest and most uncompromising new chapter.

Up next: VASSIŁINA brings her dark electronic world into life, through the raw, restless energy of her landmark album i.par.ksia.ko. One can expect a theatrical stage creative direction that suits her album’s thematic.  

The headliner of the night is Tamta, a fashion forward pop artist who chooses reinvention over comfort, trading familiarity for unexpected experimentation. Immerse into a world where dystopian dark soundscapes class with bright synths and pop music. This is not a night of commerciality; this is a night where Greek music reshapes and reinvent itself in the most inspiring way.

Ο Γιάννης Βεσλεμές επισκέπτεται την εμβληματική ταινία του Νίκου Παναγιωτόπουλου συνθέτοντας ζωντανά στη σκηνή και παράλληλα με την ταινία ένα νέο εναλλακτικό σάουντρακ. Με τη βοήθεια ενός σύγχρονου modular synthesis συστήματος συνομιλεί με το 1978, συμπλέει στη βραδύτητα των πρωταγωνιστών της ταινίας και κατά περίπτωση εναρμονίζεται ή συγκρούεται με την  ίδια την ιστορία της.

Ο Γιάννης Βεσλεμές σκηνοθέτης και συνθέτης γεννήθηκε το 1979 στην Αθήνα. Έχει σκηνοθετήσει τις μεγάλου μήκους ταινίες Νορβηγία (2014), The Field Guide to Evil (2018, ανθολογία), Αγαπούσε τα Λουλούδια Περισσότερο(2024). Οι ταινίες του έχουν παιχτεί σε μεγάλα φεστιβάλ (Tribeca, Karlovy Vary,South by Southwest, κ.α.) και έχουν διανεμηθεί παγκοσμίως. Δισκογραφεί εδώ και είκοσι χρόνια (ως Veslemes ή Felizol) σε εκλεκτικά ευρωπαϊκά label (Optimo Music,Macadam Mambo, Invisible Inc κ.α.) και έχει συνθέσει μουσική για πολλές ελληνικές ταινίες (Suntan, Τετάρτη 04:45, Cosmic Candy κ.α.). She studied oriental violin in Greece and traditional singing, later deepening her vocal practice and
learning oud at the Conservatory of Oriental Music in France, graduating with honors.

A lover of literature, Melina studied at the Sorbonne but soon realized music demanded her full attention.
This passion for words now feeds her songwriting, while her connection to dance brings an embodied
presence to the stage.

Her universe blends tradition with poetry, creating music that feels both urban and magical, where
traditional sounds meet pop and wedding music. Her inspirations range from The Do to Rosalia.

She’s joined by Doğan Poyraz on percussion, together crafting a sound that is sensitive, powerful, and deeply original.
