{"id":20517,"date":"2024-03-04T16:55:37","date_gmt":"2024-03-04T13:55:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.athensmusicweek.gr\/?post_type=artist&#038;p=20517"},"modified":"2024-03-04T16:55:39","modified_gmt":"2024-03-04T13:55:39","slug":"freedom-candlemaker-cy","status":"publish","type":"artist","link":"https:\/\/www.athensmusicweek.gr\/el\/artists\/freedom-candlemaker-cy\/","title":{"rendered":"Freedom Candlemaker (CY)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Long before performing under the moniker Freedom Candlemaker, Lefteris Moumtzis had already become an important figure in Cyprus\u2019 music scene, releasing albums as J.Kriste Master of Disguise, and with neo-rebetiko outfit Trio Tekke<strong>.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong>Aside from his solo releases and various collaborations, he is the founder of independent label Louvana Records and the artistic director of Fengaros Music Festival, Music Village Fengaros and Lefkosia Loop Festival.&nbsp;The shimmering moments of his previous work seem to have been distilled in&nbsp;his new project, formed in 2018.<\/p><p>Although the name Freedom Candlemaker is a literal translation of Lefteris Moumtzis\u2019 name, it is also a clear enough indication of his style: laid-back, warm, and accessible.
