Dr Georgios Samaras is Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Public Policy at the School of
Government and Policy, King\u2019s College London. In 2022\u201323 he served as Lecturer in Political
Economy within the Department of Political Economy. He holds an MA and PhD in Political
Science from King\u2019s College London, where his doctoral research focused on the Greek far-right
party Golden Dawn.
Alongside his academic career, he is an experimental electronic music artist specialising in
modular and FM synthesis. From 2011 to 2020 he performed as Plastic Flowers, releasing three
studio albums on Inner Ear Records, Crash Symbols and Native Sound. He has toured widely
across Europe and the United States, with performances at SXSW, Fun Fun Fest, the Royal

Nabil\u2019s career spans international marketing in Fortune 500 companies, multimedia journalism for The<\/em> New York Times<\/em>, running a film studio in Geneva and consulting for UN development agencies in West Africa and the Levant. In 2013, he co-founded Station Beirut, one of the leading venues in Lebanon presenting the next generation of live and visual artists from the Swana* region. In 2022, Nabil launched Shuruq Music agency to promote emerging talent from Swana and its diasporas.
