Since 2017, she has been a founding member of Culture 4 Change, the Greek network of socio-cultural professionals committed to community engagement through the arts. Greek\/German conductor and composer Ektoras Tartanis was appointed 1st Kapellmeister at the Opera House Freiburg in the 2019\/20 season and chief conductor of the South Bavarian Philharmonic Orchestra. He is the musical director of several opera productions and symphony concerts, and collaborates with renowned directors. He served also as the assistant and artistic mentee of Teodor Currentzis, with whom he has worked with closely over the last years. He studied conducting in Stuttgart, Linz and Manchester and is composing since childhood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Next to his conducting activities Ektoras invests a lot of his time in composing and his music gains more and more attention of a wider public audience. His music is published by the Universal Edition in Vienna. A focus of his conducting practice is the standard classical repertoire as well as contemporary music, since he has world premiered many works already. He also works internationally and has won various conducting prizes. Ektoras believes that classical music is relevant to all people of all ages and that it has to be made accessible by a contemporary and authentic experience. Musical quality and craftsmanship paired with an unpretentious and genuine attitude is the artistic creed of Ektoras Tartanis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He pioneered the campaign against genetically modified organisms (GMOs) in Greece, which led to the adoption of national legislation banning GMOs, protecting both consumers and farmers from genetic pollution. For over two decades, he has been a committed voice in the energy and climate change debate, promoting energy efficiency, renewable energy, and energy storage as essential solutions. More recently, his work has focused on advancing Green Development, emphasizing the need for social justice in the transition to a sustainable future.
He has held various influential roles, including Board Member of the National Center for Environment and Sustainable Development, member of the National Committee for Energy Planning, member of the IUCN Species Survival Commission, and Board Member of Climate Action Network \u2013 Europe. He is also the author of several books and numerous articles on environmental issues, civil society, climate change, and just transition.

Though his focus lies in music and event production, Lauras has also contributed to national
television formats and award shows, including M.A.M.A. and Sidabrin\u0117 Gerv\u0117, often
blending live performance with broadcast innovation. His experience during the pandemic led
to the pioneering of digital concert formats and AR-integrated events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2023, he played a key role in the NATO Summit in Lithuania, helping shape the cultural
programming and public experience of this high-profile event. As a regular lecturer at major
Lithuanian universities and co-founder of the international showcase festival What\u2019s Next in
