Are you struggling to raise funding, or unsure what investors are really looking for?<\/p>

Music and innovation are advancing across the region, yet ventures in music and the wider creative industries still struggle to find the right backers at the right time. This roundtable examines what investors respond to in founders, ideas, and markets, and why some companies gain traction while others do not. It considers how risk, timing and traction are assessed, how access to capital differs across regions, and what it means to raise outside established hubs. It also examines how deals are sourced in practice, and the role of networks and trust in that process, where introductions, reputation and relationships can shape outcomes as much as the pitch itself.<\/p>

Katerina Pramatari is founding partner at Uni.Fund, a VC fund established in 2018 as part of the Equifund initiative to support the growth of new ventures and leverage the hidden potential that exists in the Universities, R&D and Tech Space. Katerina has extensive entrepreneurial experience and has been the founder of two technology start-ups. She also serves as Professor at the Department of Management Science and Technology of the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB) and has extensive research experience in the fields of Internet-of-Things (IoT), retail and business analytics. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She is a key founder and scientific coordinator of ACEin, a leading University accelerator that has been awarded for bridging the corporate world with University start-ups. Myrto Papathanou is a Founding Partner at Metavallon VC, an early-stage fund backing technology startups across sectors and geographies. With over 25 years of experience in investment, finance, and entrepreneurship, she brings a strong global perspective and hands-on operational insight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She began her career in London at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein and Bank of America Merrill Lynch, before returning to Greece to take on leadership roles in high-tech companies. Prior to co-founding Metavallon VC in 2018, she served as Group CFO and Head of Corporate Development at EFA Ventures, a group active in the Aerospace&Defense and high-tech verticals (Theon - AXE:THEON, ESS, Scytalys and other).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At Metavallon, she has led investments in companies such as Think Silicon (acq. by Applied Materials), Seervision (acq. by Q-SYS), Ferryhopper, Better Origin and Advantis. The fund has also invested in companies at the intersection of technology and creativity, including Krotos - a cutting-edge sound design tools used in film, gaming, and music production and CreatorUp - an AI-driven platform enabling scalable video creation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Myrto holds an MBA from INSEAD, an MSc in Finance from Imperial College and a BSc in Economics from City University, London. Jakob Wredstr\u00f8m is the founder of Amplitude Ventures, a venture studio that helps early-stage founders build, launch, and grow their startups.
He has over 10 years of experience in music tech and startup development. His approach is practical and focused on execution. He works closely with founders to build products, prepare for investment, and move with clarity through the early stages of growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jakob began his career in music after a sports injury ended his path as an athlete. He built his first studio from scratch and later expanded into labels, tech platforms, and creative businesses. That experience taught him the value of structure, momentum, and working closely with others.
At Amplitude, he has helped launch and scale startups across AI, fintech, education, and creative industries. His focus is on building strong teams, clear strategies, and early traction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also hosts the Sound Connections Podcast, where he speaks with founders, creators, and operators about how ideas become companies. Panath\u0113nea co-founder Lars Rasmussen is an angel investor in Athens, Greece with a computer science Ph.D. from UC Berkeley. In 2004, Lars and his brother Jens sold their mapping startup to Google, and there lead the team that created Google Maps. Lars was next a director of engineering at Facebook in Menlo Park and London, then co-founded music tech startup Weav. His favorite investments include Canva, Astranis, Neara, MOOD, Smash, PhosPrint and ResQ biotech.
