At the same time, DJs, collectors, and independent curators continue to shape discovery in a very different way \u2014 through taste, context, and community.<\/p>
This panel brings together DJs, curators, and community builders to explore what happens when discovery is driven by people instead of systems. Each panelist draws on their own experience to examine how collections, playlists, and word-of-mouth recommendation create richer, more trusted paths to music.<\/p>

With over two decades in the global electronic music scene, Stathis Kalatzis is a creative producer, music curator, and DJ\/producer renowned for bridging music, culture, and visual storytelling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He has collaborated with industry-leading platforms, such as Vibelab on XP Music Futures, serving as Senior Programmer and booker for the Middle East's largest music conference, and NightSchool, where he acted as Communications Strategist for a cross-EU event producers exchange programme funded by Creative Europe. As Creative Director of ACADDEMIA, Stathis led programming and operations for the non-profit entity supporting Greek musicians through workshops and masterclasses. His tenure at Red Bull Music Academy as Music Curator involved programming and booking for multiple flagship activations worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Under the moniker Mr. Statik and Territroy (alongside Larry Gus), he has released music on labels like Dekmantel, BPitch Control, Mo\u2019s Ferry, and Away Records, performing internationally at festivals such as Sonar, Dekmantel, and Reworks and numerous clubs throughout his career. His audiovisual project \u2018Enantiodromia\u2019 with Carla Streckwall has been showcased at experimental animation film festivals. Matthias Strobel Hohmann is the President of MusicTech Germany which he founded in 2017 as the world's first music technology association. He is also Co-Founder and Vice-President of Music Tech Europe, making him a central point of contact for innovation across the music sector in Germany and beyond.
He works as a consultant, mentor, and independent advisor, supporting organizations at the intersection of music, technology, and innovation. Drawing on extensive experience and an international network, he helps shape the evolution of the music ecosystem.
Matthias is a lecturer at the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music at New York University, teaching music technology innovation with a focus on Berlin and its global context.
He curates international conferences, leads innovation workshops, and facilitates knowledge exchange across the creative industries. His Berlin Music Tech Meetups have grown into a community of 2,500+ professionals. He is also the organizer of MUSIC FRONTIERS, a forward-thinking conference exploring new visions for music and its industry.

He was the CTO and later CEO of a successful Greek tech company, which scaled internationally and was acquired after a 15-year (rough!) journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A lifelong music enthusiast, George has been a DJ, a member of various music collectives, and co-founder of a non-profit association that supports teams organizing music events. He loves exploring how music, technology, and culture intersect\u2014and how things evolve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is a Sociology graduate with a Master\u2019s degree in Psychology and Mass Media and possesses many years of experience in media, event management, and music curation. His career as a professional DJ, promoter, and music curator has established his position as a content creator, communication specialist, and producer of cultural projects. He has collaborated with organizations and platforms such as Synch Festival, Avopolis.gr, En Lefko 87.7, six d.o.g.s, ADD Festival, and Sky Vector Music. In 2022, together with Dimitris Papaioannou, he co-founded _&Beyond, a platform dedicated to music, culture, and events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Under the alias Chevy, he has been active as a DJ for 25 years, with a sound that moves between contemporary disco, leftfield house, and indie dance. He is a resident DJ at major Athens venues, hosts a show on Stegi Radio, and runs the mobile party Needless.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
