The Music Tech Europe Association is developing a series of closed, expert roundtables across Europe to address one of the most pressing questions facing the music sector today: how can we build shared knowledge around AI across the music industry, the AI ecosystem, and the artists navigating both?<\/p>

The Athens Forum focuses on a clear structural gap. Music companies and artists are increasingly engaging with AI without always having the frameworks or understanding to use it effectively. At the same time, AI companies often approach the music sector without a deep understanding of how it actually operates. The result is friction, mistrust, and missed opportunities on both sides.<\/p>

The session explores two sides of the same challenge:<\/p>

\u2022 AI meets music<\/strong>: How are AI companies approaching the music sector? Where does their understanding fall short?
\u2022 Music meets AI<\/strong>: How are music companies and artists engaging with AI in practice? What knowledge frameworks are still missing?<\/p>

Yvan Boudillet is the Founder of Music Innovation Consulting (MIC), an advisory company
helping music organisations navigate innovation through strategic intelligence, capacity
building, and ecosystem partnerships.
He is also the Co-Founder and Secretary General of Music Tech Europe, the European
network connecting music innovation hubs across the continent.
With a particular focus on artificial intelligence, Live Music innovation, and European cultural
policy, Yvan works at the crossroads of technology, culture, and public action. In 2021, he
authored a report on Offline & Online Music Distribution for the European Commission as
part of the Music Moves Europe programme. In 2024, he moderated the AI session at the
EU Conference on Music organised by the European Commission in Brussels, a topic he
continues to advance through the Forum Music & AI initiated by Music Tech Europe. He
believes in innovation that rhymes with cooperation, experimentation, and creation, not
disruption, and sees it as a collective journey shaped by human curiosity, artistic purpose,
and responsible technological progress.
A regular speaker at major international events including SXSW (US), Midem (FR), ILMC
(UK), Sonar+D (ES), ESNS (NL), Wallifornia (BE), Slush Music (FI), Linecheck (IT), MAMA
(FR), Athens Music Week (GR), Fluvial (CL), and Music Inc. India (IN), he brings a bridge-
builder perspective between the music industry, the tech ecosystem, and policymakers,
advocating for inclusive and collaborative approaches across the creative industries. He also
serves on the international jury of the Music Cities Awards.
Before launching MIC, Yvan held senior roles in digital strategy at Warner Music and EMI

MTH has over 90 members, including Bmat, S\u00f3nar, Sonosuite, Unison Rights, and Voicemod. He is co-founder and treasurer of Music Tech Europe, the pan-European network of music technology hubs. He also serves on the advisory committee of the UPF-BMAT Chair in AI and Music, which advocates for collaborative, open, and ethical AI created by and for the music community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He complements his mentoring and advisory work with his own investment vehicle, Zagaz Conscious Investments, with a current portfolio of 15 investee companies, specializing in investments for startups in the Music Tech sector, offering not only capital, but also strategic advice, supporting entrepreneurs at every stage of their development. Michael Petychakis is a Greek technology leader and entrepreneur passionate about artificial intelligence and its applications. He holds an Electrical and Computer Engineering degree, including an MSc from the National Technical University of Athens. A scholarship opportunity led Michael to Dubai, where he discovered his passion for AI while working in a humanoid laboratory. He spent a decade in academia exploring AI\u2019s potential in web technologies, publishing widely in top journals and conferences. Michael\u2019s expertise was further enhanced by an executive MBA training at Stanford University in 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Michael\u2019s entrepreneurial spirit is evident. He founded his first startup, Moodeet, in 2012 and has since held leadership positions in various startups and software companies. Since 2015, he has been CTO of ORFIUM until the end of 2024, a global leader in the entertainment industry\u2019s software solutions. Under his direction, Orfium has expanded internationally from zero to 700 people, with offices in LA, London, Dublin, Athens, Tokyo, Sofia and Sri Lanka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Michael has been the CTO of Dialectica<\/a> since the beginning of 2025. Michael is a respected figure in the tech community and is actively involved in organizations like Endeavor Greece and the Entrepreneurs\u2019 Organization. He is a recognized innovator, receiving awards such as the First National Young Enterprise Award and being featured on Fortune\u2019s 40 Under 40 list for five consecutive years (2020-2024).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond business, Michael dedicates his time to mentoring startups and supporting charitable causes. He played a key role in developing the technology platform for the Surgical Teams Working in Africa Together (SWIFTSS) charity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
