Last year\u2019s discussion set out Greece\u2019s ambitions around AI, including initiatives such as Pharos, the Greek AI Factory, and the role of creators in how language, culture and repertoire are represented in emerging systems.<\/p>
A year on, the focus turns to where things stand now. From the perspective of the Hellenic Copyright Organisation, the conversation looks at how the framework is holding up, where interpretation is settling, and where it remains in flux.<\/p>

Yannis Iliopoulos balances his career between the music industry, the startup ecosystem, and academia. He has a solid experience in music rights, business strategy and marketing and a strong background in communication, pitching and storytelling. He is a Senior Programmes Manager at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance (ICMP) in London, designing and managing courses on music business and digital marketing. Yannis is also a startup advisor, specialising in business modelling and pitching, with experience in different sectors of the enterprise space (tech, music tech, fintech etc).
Yannis is the founder of the independent record label \u2018The Sound Of Everything\u2019, its publishing arm \u2018The Sound Of Everything Publishing\u2019, and its artist development programme \u2018Unsigned and Gifted\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She has an extensive law drafting experience (including the majority of copyright directives and recently the DSA Regulation); she has also drafted the relevant framework for the national copyright anti-piracy system (Article 66E Law 2121\/1993 and the pertinent ministerial decisions), while she is actively involved in the function and the supervision of the Greek Committee for the Notification of Copyright and Related Rights Infringement on the Internet (EDPPI). She is an author of numerous contributions in books and articles (in Greek, English and German), has presented many papers in national and international conferences and gives lectures on copyright issues. As a lawyer she has also worked in Germany, where she holds a law degree from, mainly dealing with copyright cases. She represents Greece in numerous EU Committees and international fora on IP. During the Greek Presidency of the Council of the EU in 2014, she served as Vice-Chairman of the European Council Working Party on Copyright and as Liaison for Greece on copyright issues. She participates as a member in Law Drafting Committees on copyright and as an IP Expert in EU Twinning Programs. She gives speeches at conferences on IP law and is the author of many articles and contributions both in Greece and abroad, in legal journals commenting on contemporary legal issues on IP and cultural heritage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n As a copyright expert she is also working as a freelance attorney-at-law consulting on IP law in general and has a particular experience in contract law. Maria also believes in the ADR options and has experience as an accredited mediator in helping private parties to positively resolve their domestic or cross-border disputes.
