]]> Jef Maarawi, born in São Paulo and of Greek, Brazilian, and Syrian descent, began his musical journey in Athens at 17. His sound—a fusion of American folk legends like Bob Dylan and Sufjan Stevens, the raw energy of 90s bands such as Pixies and Nirvana, and the vibrant rhythms of Brazilian Tropicália icons like Jorge Ben Jor and Caetano Veloso—sets him apart.

Having released three albums under the esteemed Greek label Inner Ear Records, he first introduced himself as Egg Hell with Once Part of a Whole Ship (2014) before adopting the name Jef Maarawi and releasing Comfort Food (2017) and Terra Papagalli (2021).

His latest album, Gospel, was recorded in just seven days and serves as a raw reflection on resilience—a bittersweet farewell before an extended stay in Brazil. Gospel draws inspiration from the raw intensity of Australian artists like Gareth Liddiard and Grace Cummings, while channeling the spirit of Brazil’s 1970s music scene.

]]> Elephant have been around since 2018. They feel like they play alternative rock, though they haven’t fully realized it yet. The band was formed one afternoon in a studio in Ioannina, somewhere between conversations about music and creativity, searching for ways to exist while keeping up with reality.

Not long after, they created their full-length album, A Better Me, which was released in the summer of 2022. More than anything, they thrive on the energy of live performances. Over the past two years, they have shared the stage with numerous artists, events, and festivals across Greece.

With the release of their latest work, they will embark on a national tour throughout the winter and spring of 2025.

]]> Case Zero is an alternative rock band from Athens created by Zozefina Vlachou and the brothers Vasilis and Yiannis Groumas.

Case Zero have been together since 2014, originally under the name Disadvantage, and they won the competition of the Stegi Onassis “new artists – secret gig II”. then, as Inside out they appeared at several events and festivals with their unplugged live appearance on rock fm

96.9 in 2014, they were the youngest band invited to the station.

Case Zero have now shaped their style and already released their first song “let me move”. Their debut album is expected and will include a total of eleven tracks. In their active years, they have performed a large number of live performances characterized by the energy they bring out on stage.

]]> An analog power trio from Cracow, Poland. Musically between classic rock, 90’s Seattle scene and contemporary alternative, they’re not shying away from experiments outside of the genres. It’s just supposed to be noisy and true.

Defying the “official industry”, they’ve been walking their own paths throughout the world – they’ve played a few hundred shows in 11 countries (including Canada, Germany, Ukraine, Macedonia and more).

Their discography consists of 7 releases, on their favourite vinyls, too Worked with the best people of rock, such as Mark Rains (Rival Sons) or Denis Blackham (Eric Clapton, Black Sabbath).

Their music gets airplay regularly on the best alternative radio stations in Poland (357, Antyradio, Trojka) but, still, it tastes the best served live. You can test this statement on AMW!

]]> In a state of diverse distractions, it is most decent for a musician to speak a solid language. Loving tradition makes tradition, Greek in its essence. Here is where rock, psalms, Balkan dreams, coexist with the polyphonic West and the gypsy karsilama, to form the many personas of Pentovolo. All five compositions serve a geometry, austere still leaving glades and paths to psychedelia and improvisation. The instruments (four-stringed accordion, percussion, percussion, caval, vocals) bear a contemporary mythology hence comes a sound unheard. Pentovolo defines itself as the virgin eye into the quasi known. Not belonging, addresses everybody. Unlimitedly Unconditionally.

The band draw together their influences to make groove-heavy Hendrix-pop.. that flows from gritty guitar lead lines to catchy rhythms, and is sure to leave the audience tapping their feet, grinding their bodies, and throwing things out of the window…
