President, Music Tech Germany


Matthias Strobel Hohmann is the President of MusicTech Germany which he founded in 2017 as the world’s first music technology association. He is also Co-Founder and Vice-President of Music Tech Europe, making him a central point of contact for innovation across the music sector in Germany and beyond.
He works as a consultant, mentor, and independent advisor, supporting organizations at the intersection of music, technology, and innovation. Drawing on extensive experience and an international network, he helps shape the evolution of the music ecosystem.
Matthias is a lecturer at the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music at New York University, teaching music technology innovation with a focus on Berlin and its global context.
He curates international conferences, leads innovation workshops, and facilitates knowledge exchange across the creative industries. His Berlin Music Tech Meetups have grown into a community of 2,500+ professionals. He is also the organizer of MUSIC FRONTIERS, a forward-thinking conference exploring new visions for music and its industry.
Matthias also serves as a judge and mentor for several of Europe’s leading startup competitions and accelerator programs.
