Streaming platforms have made music more accessible than ever — but at the cost of flattening taste. Algorithmic recommendations optimise for engagement, not depth, often recycling the same signals and sidelining the edges where culture actually moves.

At the same time, DJs, collectors, and independent curators continue to shape discovery in a very different way — through taste, context, and community.

This panel brings together DJs, curators, and community builders to explore what happens when discovery is driven by people instead of systems. Each panelist draws on their own experience to examine how collections, playlists, and word-of-mouth recommendation create richer, more trusted paths to music.
