Part PR professional – part journalist, Evi Choursanidi has been commenting on music and contemporary pop culture for years.

With a backround in Communications and Mass Media and after gaining work experience in London and Paris, Evi has worked both in PR and in media (MAD TV, Jumping Fish, Frontstage, to name a few).

Currently, she is working with national broadcaster ERT, as Marketing Manager of its radio stations, as well as freelancing as a writer, focusing on music and entertainment. Prior to this, she was Editor-in-Chief of Avopolis, Greece’s longest running music website.

Somewhere in all of that, she decided “Άκου Αυτό” (which means “Listen To This” in Greek) was a good brand name for her music blog and her playlists, so she’s been holding the nickname for more than 15 years.

Marili Randla is one of the first employees of Music Estonia and has been dedicated for the last 5 years to the development and implementation of music industry programmes and services, e.g. internship programme INTRO, mentoring programmes, funds, etc. Marili has previous experience in the field of music marketing, PR and event management (BDG, Club Hollywood, Hiiu Folk, Iceland Music, TIKS Rekords) and has managed international youth music projects (Noortebänd, Stage Europe Network). From 2023, Marili is a member of the board of the international project HUB for the Exchange of Music Innovation (HEMI) and coordinates the project’s activities on behalf of Estonia. In her spare time, she plays flute in the Tallinn University Symphony Orchestra and in DIY music friendship group Cosmoskva.

She is co-founder of Overground Music, a management, booking and PR agency representing some of the biggest names of the Romanian alternative scene, as well as some of its most promising up-and-coming artists. The agency`s roster includes bands like The Mono Jacks, byron, Robin and the Backstabbers, Lucia, Grimus, Jurjak, Rockabella, Dimitri`s Bats, Eyedrops. She coordinates the PR, media relations, radio plugin, and social media activities of the agency`s artists and also writes projects for various financing programs.

Since 2017 Iulia is also co-organiser and Communication Manager of Mastering the Music Business, Romania’s leading music business conference.

Produttori Musicali Indipendenti, Digital Music Day and Music Tech Europe Academy sponsored by Merlin present a workshop about the evolution of music distribution.

In the first part of the workshop, Chris Cooke (Co-founder and MD of CMU) will explain how the role of the music distributor has evolved over the last two decades as distribution companies have expanded the ways that they work with independent music businesses, increasingly moving into the so-called artist and label services.
