Hear directly from those working with the issues as they move from policy discussion into practical interpretation.

Last year’s discussion set out Greece’s ambitions around AI, including initiatives such as Pharos, the Greek AI Factory, and the role of creators in how language, culture and repertoire are represented in emerging systems.

A year on, the focus turns to where things stand now. From the perspective of the Hellenic Copyright Organisation, the conversation looks at how the framework is holding up, where interpretation is settling, and where it remains in flux.

The discussion moves through training data, transparency requirements in practice, and how rights are being handled as systems scale, including the influence of the EU AI Act on the Greek landscape.

A clear view of the current position, and what it means for creators and rightsholders working in and around AI.

Moderated by Yannis Iliopoulos

The post AI, copyright and Greece: The rights question no one can avoid appeared first on Athens Music Week.

Powered by Kiki Music Group.

The post Tamta in conversation with VASSIŁINA: Invention, Reinvention and the Self You Choose to Become appeared first on Athens Music Week.

Almost ten years ago, Google Creative Lab released NSynth Super – an open-source AI instrument that lets musicians create entirely new sounds by blending existing ones. Artists like Grimes embraced it early, using NSynth-generated sounds on tracks such as “So Heavy I Fell Through the Earth” from her 2020 album Miss Anthropocene.

In this fireside chat, moderator Chris Hocking sits down with Steve Vranakis (Co-Founder & Chief Creative Officer at Catalytic and former Chief Creative Officer for Greece). Together they move past fear and focus on real practice. We’ll watch a short archival video of NSynth Super in action and explore grounded examples of how AI has already supported faster iteration, new sonic directions, and human creativity for a decade.

The conversation will address:

Is this a moment when creativity feels under threat – or the best time ever to have a creative mind?

What shifts when creatives and technologists start sculpting the future together?

Grounded in real stories, the session examines practical questions around authorship, value, and responsible innovation

Moderated by Chris Hocking

The post Almost 10 Years after NSynth: What does another decade of AI actually mean for creativity in music? appeared first on Athens Music Week.

For over twenty years, Jack Savoretti has quietly built one of the most distinctive careers across Europe, connecting with audiences on his own terms and well beyond a single market.

Born in London to an Italian father and German mother, his music moves between cultures, languages and moods. From Singing to Strangers to Europiana and the Italian-language Miss Italia, his catalogue shows how a European identity can travel, resonate and endure. He has built a loyal following across the continent, touring from London to Athens and everywhere in between.

In conversation, he opens up about how that connection is created and sustained. The role of identity, language and instinct, what it really takes to win over audiences across borders, and how artists can shape their own path in a Europe that is more connected than ever.

Moderated by Despina Kritikou

The post In conversation with Jack Savoretti: The voice that won over Europe appeared first on Athens Music Week.

The post Pan Pan in conversation with Autow Nite Superstore appeared first on Athens Music Week.
