With wide experience in the music industry for more than 20 years, she has worked both in the public and private sectors, organising her first underground music events at age of 16 and later working as a senior officer of the Creative Industries department at the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Latvia.

Curating a radio show Gaismas kaste on Latvian radio Naba about music conferences and showcase festivals since 2019. Founder of gender equality platform SievieteTe, which is part of upcoming international Femme Fatale network.

Black Athena are a DJ duo, a radio show and more recently a record label, conceived in and around the centre of Athens during the first decade of the millennium. The Black Athena philosophy is as much about the local as it is about the global. In an underground music field that increasingly is about A&Ring music directly from the internet and creating labels spearheaded by artists already accepted as “cool”, Black Athena is all about having a personal ‘real’ connection with the artists, helping develop them and putting them on a global stage. In a country that has been plagued by uncertainty and financial instability, Black Athena believe that it is paramount to put young people at the forefront and help them succeed through their creativity and love for music. Their recipe is the same across all the media they work with: black music, past present and future. The sound of Black Athena is as much about the sound of contemporary US rap as expressed by Kendrick Lamar, Drake and A$ap Rocky, as it is about the Deep House blueprint of Moodymann and Theo Parrish. It is as much about Wiley, Skepta and D Double E as it is about Prince, Marvin Gaye, Prince Jammy & Chic. Saying that they wouldn’t even have second thoughts about releasing or playing an unheard 1970s Synth record, or an 80s New Wave band. Music is music, and they love good music!

Dimitri Papaioannou (GR)

Dimitri Papaioannou is a prominent figure in the Greek music scene, having made significant contributions since the mid-2000s. After spending ten years studying sound elements and working as a resident DJ, promoter and producer at the renowned Link club in Bologna, Italy, he returned to Athens and established himself as a key figure.
From a young age, Dimitri developed a passion for collecting vinyl records and analog synthesizers, which greatly influenced his musical journey. He was the founder and artistic director of Synch Festival, which has been widely acclaimed as the best European Festival in 2006. Additionally, he created Terra Furba, a multidisciplinary event that combines music, art, and performances, often taking place in unconventional locations within various neighborhoods.
Dimitri also founded 360 Recordstore, Fabrika Sound Studio, Spiti Bar Athens, and his latest venture, _&Beyond. &Beyond is a boutique high-end concept and grinder platform that explores new ideas in the realm of events and music.
Furthermore, Dimitri hosts a daily radio show called “Method To The Madness” on Movement Radio, sponsored by the Onassis Foundation. The show, now in its third year, transcends the typical format of a radio show and encompasses an entire musical universe. It aims to spread the free spirit of good music without compromising on genres. If one were to classify Dimitri’s DJ performances, the term “Avant Pop” best captures his unique sound and approach.
Overall, Dimitri Papaioannou has made significant contributions to the Greek music scene through his various ventures, festivals, events, radio show, and distinct DJ performances.

Theodora Karakassi is the co-organiser of a lot of music events that take place in Athens. From production, to booking talent, to marketing, be it in ancient theaters, concert halls or underground clubs and across all genres of music. She is also an integral part of the Athens based Plisskën Festival which has been running for 15 years. With a still active career in Architectural Design, the two businesses can easily merge into one in the form of creative industries. As a production company the team is behind exceptional programming of fresh and established International talent invited to Greece, and also building new concepts such as the EDEN Sunday Day parties. Since 2010 they have been pushing boundaries and and have featured artists such as Smashing Pumpkins, Bonobo, Caribou, Tony Allen, Giorgio Moroder, Cigarettes After Sex, Mulatu Astatke, Jungle, Tinariwen, Slowthai, Orchestra Baobab, Bicep and many more.

Better Live: Cooperation as an answer for the ecological challenges

Better Live is a Europe Creative funded cooperation project that will work with eleven European partners involved in the jazz and improvised music scene. From 2023 to 2025, Better Live will be studying and producing new models of live music events towards a more green, inclusive and fair live music ecosystem. It is an experiment trying to implement sustainable solutions inr the ecological music sector by educating and integrating more than 100 cultural actors in 9 territories in order to raise awareness about the green transition and to push for developing sustainable touring structures on European scale. He started is career in the music industry in the year 2012 by doing an apprenticeship in the local Hamburg music club KNUST. After finishing in 2014 he continued to work in local music clubs as well as being a freelancer for German music festivals and corporate events. In 2015 he started studying at the University of Hamburg by a bachelor’s degree in social economics followed up by a master’s degree in International Business and Sustainability. After several editions of Reeperbahn Festival as freelancer he began working for the festival in 2019. At the moment he is a Senior Manager in the Sales & Partnerships department.
