
Laskarina Liakakou is a lawyer, journalist and bioethics researcher working at the intersection of law, investigative reporting and ocean advocacy. She holds a law degree from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and is completing postgraduate studies in bioethics at the University of Crete, focusing on environmental ethics, emerging technologies and ecological governance. She has published animal law research with Nomiki Vivliothiki and currently leads ocean communications for Greenpeace Greece’s 30×30 campaign, advocating for the protection of 30% of the world’s oceans by 2030.
As a journalist, she often appears on LiFO with opinion pieces on legal and climate issues. She produces the podcast ‘Kata Vathos’, the first ocean podcast in Greece. She works on investigative podcasts with Melon Media. She is a Terra.do climate fellow and was selected as one of eight journalists globally by the Earth Journalism Network to report on UNOC3. She is a public speaker who has appeared at the Onassis Foundation, Thessaloniki Documentary Festival, SNFCC and Athens Music Week.
