
Myrto Papathanou is a Founding Partner at Metavallon VC, an early-stage fund backing technology startups across sectors and geographies. With over 25 years of experience in investment, finance, and entrepreneurship, she brings a strong global perspective and hands-on operational insight.
She began her career in London at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein and Bank of America Merrill Lynch, before returning to Greece to take on leadership roles in high-tech companies. Prior to co-founding Metavallon VC in 2018, she served as Group CFO and Head of Corporate Development at EFA Ventures, a group active in the Aerospace&Defense and high-tech verticals (Theon – AXE:THEON, ESS, Scytalys and other).
At Metavallon, she has led investments in companies such as Think Silicon (acq. by Applied Materials), Seervision (acq. by Q-SYS), Ferryhopper, Better Origin and Advantis. The fund has also invested in companies at the intersection of technology and creativity, including Krotos – a cutting-edge sound design tools used in film, gaming, and music production and CreatorUp – an AI-driven platform enabling scalable video creation.
Myrto holds an MBA from INSEAD, an MSc in Finance from Imperial College and a BSc in Economics from City University, London. She has been a Kauffman Fellow since 2019.
