AMW 2024 DAY I | PHOTOSTORY
The sixth edition of AMW started with an awesome party on the roof of Gazi View where the guests and friends of the festival caught the first musical discussions with the amazing view of the Acropolis and Technopolis. Nikos Manzos, producer of MAD Radio, NOHMA and Monodic took care of the electronic, sound background accompanying the first chit chats set up on the summer terrace!
The official launch of AMW took place the next day in Technopolis, at the Miltiadis Evert Amphitheater, where the Deputy Minister of Culture Christos Dimas gave the opening speech in front of a large audience, while a very interesting discussion followed between distinguished guests about the evolving role of Athens as a cultural hub of creativity. A little later the hip-hop label and music company Stay Independent presented the art of DIY collaborative strategy for the progress in the music industry, while the panel about AI and its power of influence in shaping a new landscape of musical things was of great interest. .
And while the first floor of Innovathens was filled with the public seeking the knowledge of the experts through the workshops they held, in the courtyard outside the jams in the Bandbeat studio were on fire! Perhaps the highlight of the first day’s discussions took place at the Purifier where 4 artists from different fields – Saske, Alkyone, La Chica and Barrice – Beyond/ZEN – had an unfiltered discussion with Kosmos radio producer Michalis Kamakas about the difficulties of the music sector, the secrets of the game and the pivotal moments of their journeys.
After the end of the conference program the audience went to the stages of the Arch, Oddity Club and Gazi View venues to watch a diverse program of showcase concerts that moved from electronic jazz and neo-traditional sounds to darkwave and post- punk, closing the first day of the event in an impressive and highly danceable way!
