Laskarina Liakakou is a multidisciplinary professional working at the intersection of environmental communication, journalism, and law. Holding a degree in law from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, she is currently pursuing postgraduate research in bioethics, with a focus on environmental ethics, emerging technologies, and the governance of ecological risk.

She is a published researcher in animal law and the hostess of Kata Vathos, a Greek-language podcast exploring social and environmental questions through in-depth interviews with climate specialists. Additionally, she is part of the team behind other podcasts produced in collaboration with Melon Media, whose work has received international recognition and awards for its thoughtful coverage of complex, underreported issues.

As a journalist, she contributes regularly to LIFO, reporting and writing opinion pieces on climate, women’s rights, and social issues. She leads the communications strategy for Greenpeace’s 30×30 campaign, advocating for the protection of 30% of the world’s oceans by 2030. Her work spans NGOs, independent media, and academic research, combining legal insight with communication strategy to engage the public on topics such as marine protection, climate justice, and energy ethics. She was awarded a scholarship to attend Terra.do’s global climate program and is currently focusing on the environmental and ethical implications of deep sea mining.

In addition to her work in climate communication, she speaks publicly on LGBTQ+ rights, women’s rights, and journalistic ethics, aiming to foster critical, inclusive dialogue in both academic and public spheres.
