Stephen “Beanz” Rudden is a producer, composer and multi-instrumentalist best known for the ground-breaking UK Top 5 hit Love City Groove—the first rap track ever chosen to represent the UK at Eurovision.
He first emerged in the mid-80s with experimental group Smell Funky Beast, then worked behind the scenes with synth-pop Kissing the Pink, before launching his solo production alias, Plutonic, in 1990. with his bold reimagining of Mike Oldfield’s Tubular Bells, led to a record deal with CBS and a publishing contract with Warner/Chappell.
Beanz expanded into film and TV, his credits include chart pop, film scores, and game music—from Miramax’s The Real Howard Spitz to composing Disney’s Astro Knights and the UK pre-school series Raindrops.
Over the last decade, he’s become a Eurovision song writing force—penning entries for Denmark, Sweden, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Malta.
Recently, writing J & K Pop landed cuts with Nissy & a record-breaking release by Japanese pop giants Arashi, going triple Platinum in physical sales alone.
