
Anna Bechraki is a Sociologist and holds an MSc in “Mental Health Promotion and Prevention of Psychiatric Disorders” from the School of Medicine of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA). She is also a trainee in Systemic Psychotherapy. Since 2018, she has been working in the field of mental health and maintains a collaboration with the University Mental Health, Neurosciences and Precision Medicine Research Institute “Costas Stefanis” (UMHRI). From 2020 to 2022, she served as a sociologist for the Attica Region Programme entitled “Mental Health Promotion in Vulnerable Populations,” implemented by the First Department of Psychiatry of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens – Eginition Hospital.
Since 2023, she has been affiliated with the Panhellenic Association for Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Vocational Reintegration (PEPSAEE). In particular, since its establishment, she has been working at the Day Centre for Mental Health Support through Art, “En-Techni Psychi,” where she contributes to the design and implementation of the Unit’s programme and interventions. Furthermore, she coordinates and facilitates the weekly “Art Studio” group in collaboration with art historian and trainee art therapist Erifili Papakonstantinou. The group integrates art history, sociocultural and philosophical approaches, as well as psychological dimensions drawn from different historical periods and cultural contexts, with artistic expression, within the framework of psychosocial rehabilitation grounded in the principles of recovery, co-production, and social inclusion. She has also participated in the conduct and implementation of research studies. Her main areas of interest include the destigmatization of mental illness and psychoeducation.
