José Luis Zagazeta Vinatea is a serial entrepreneur and professional in the Catalan and Spanish music industry, with over 20 years of experience at the intersection of music, technology, and business. A mentor and advisor to national and international startups, he combines expertise in music business development, management, marketing, audio engineering, A&R, studio recording, and music publishing, with a background in Telecommunications Engineering and Digital Marketing, and a strong interest in Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, and entrepreneurship.

He is the founder of Music Tech Hub (MTH), based in Barcelona, the first non-profit hub in Spain bringing together companies, institutions, and key players in the music technology sector, representing hardware, software, and service providers across the country. MTH has over 90 members, including Bmat, Sónar, Sonosuite, Unison Rights, and Voicemod. He is co-founder and treasurer of Music Tech Europe, the pan-European network of music technology hubs. He also serves on the advisory committee of the UPF-BMAT Chair in AI and Music, which advocates for collaborative, open, and ethical AI created by and for the music community.

He complements his mentoring and advisory work with his own investment vehicle, Zagaz Conscious Investments, with a current portfolio of 15 investee companies, specializing in investments for startups in the Music Tech sector, offering not only capital, but also strategic advice, supporting entrepreneurs at every stage of their development. In the business arena, he co-founded the B2B SaaS platform Sonosuite and the B2C company La Cupula Music, both focused on innovation in the music business.

His career includes founding a record label, a music publishing company, the online music store moviedisco.com in 1999, and the recording studio Grabaciones Míticas, where the project BUSHIDO (Bunbury, Carlos Ann, Morti, and Shuarma) was launched, released by EMI in four countries. He began his career as a promoter in Barcelona’s nightlife, running the Moviedisco club, where artists like Björk presented her Homogenic album live, and DJs such as Laurent Garnier, Jeff Mills, John Acquaviva, and Richie Hawtin performed. He has also represented international DJs and producers like Felix Da Housecat and Howie B.

Passionate about innovation and digital transformation, José Luis combines his entrepreneurial spirit with a focus on sustainability, team development, and building collaborative ecosystems that connect music, technology, and entrepreneurship nationally and internationally.
