Mike Yorick Eelkema (b. 1989, The Hague, NL) is the mind behind Mye_Taai — a space where sound, words, image, and intention unfold together. Working as a writer, musician, and creative director, he shapes the project from within, while independently navigating it’s direction, bookings, and development.
His practice is built on movement: showing up, doing the work, asking questions, because if you don’t ask, you don’t know. What grows, grows through effort. What lasts is built over time. Once the vision is clear, making music can feel instinctive; the real work lives in everything that surrounds it.
“If you do not do the graft, it’s not worth it.”

He sees being an artist as a full spectrum — creative and practical, individual and shared. While the work starts from the self, it doesn’t end there. He believes strongly in building with others, creating space for people to move within their own expertise, to contribute, and to flourish.
Mye_Taai exists in that balance: personal yet collective, deliberate yet evolving — an ongoing process shaped by consistency, trust, and connection.
