The idea that artists and music professionals are workers is self-evident – yet somehow often disregarded. During the pandemic, professionals from most European countries had to battle it out individually and in isolation, leading to personal moments of rupture and issues of mental health. While the Commission introduced Music Moves Europe to “strengthen the strong assets of the European music sector”, the heterogeneity of that same sector together with the fragmented, scarce and poorly-harmonised landscape still requires robust and meaningful comparative data in order to provide targeted support and enhance the global competitiveness of the sector. In this panel, you will meet the associations and the initiatives that works together aiming to support the development of the European Music Ecosystem, promoting a proper regulatory framework, access to finance and true diversity. Be there and learn how you can join these networks and become a part of the solution.
